About us
Why OneRichmond?
OneRichmond was established in response to research conducted by two well-known local funders, Richmond Parish Lands Charity and Hampton Fund.
Our area has long been seen as a wealthy, flourishing London suburb, but this is only a part of Richmond’s story. For many local people, this masks a harsher reality. To address this, we work across the London Borough of Richmond, from Barnes to Hampton, Kew, and Whitton.
By studying the latest evidence, local insights, and available data we gain a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing our community today. With your help, we can unlock new funding by encouraging our community to give locally. This helps us channel funds towards organisations creating the most impact, and strengthen support across our local area.
Caring Richmond
As our initial priority, we will be focusing on strengthening support for unpaid carers across the borough, and channelling our funds to organisations enabling meaningful change. Official records indicate that there are around 19,000 unpaid carers in our local area: enough to fill a quarter of Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium. Many more people, however, remain unrecognised as unpaid carers, often because they do not see themselves as providing this role.
Caring is a role which transcends the boundaries between home, work, and social life, affecting every aspect of carers’ routines. For those upon whom a loved one depends for basic care needs, such as food and hygiene, the responsibilities of daily life can become overwhelming.
Carers frequently cite feelings of loneliness, isolation, frustration, and burnout. Some are putting their personal, financial, emotional, and physical needs aside to their own detriment. These are real problems for carers that OneRichmond will seek to address through financial help and better collaboration amongst local organisations.
Information For Grant Applications
OneRichmond recognises the significant toll faced by many in our local population who undertake an unpaid caring role, and it is for this reason that we have chosen unpaid carers as our priority funding theme.
In the future, we will welcome applications from local organisations who can demonstrate innovative and scalable approaches to addressing local need, alongside demonstrable positive impact to the lives of those needing additional support.
