Richmond Aid

Providing cost of living advice and support

Richmond AID provides information and advice for people with disabilities living across the Richmond Borough. In 2023-24 they supported more than 3,500 people through their advice service, more than in any other year.

To meet this growing demand, OneRichmond awarded a £20,000 grant to appoint a new advisor who could help with budgeting, benefits advice and cost of living support.

79% of people who came to Richmond Aid in the last year said they felt less stressed about the issues they face, and 81% said they felt more confident dealing with their situation because of the advice they’ve been given.

“The advisor helped to humanise a process that otherwise would have been so difficult to navigate, and she supported me through an upsetting form-filling experience. She helped me feel so much better about the process, understand it, navigate it better. I can’t begin to describe the difference that this made to me at a really difficult point in my life.”

“Richmond Aid has been great at helping me access a household grant. This has been a lifesaver and over the past two years since I had my stroke.”
