What we do

Together We Achieve More

OneRichmond aims to become a significant grantmaker in the local area, supporting the work of other organisations already delivering exceptional service.

Our approach values direct engagement of the people closest to the issues, combined with the latest academic research and available data.

Entrusting us with your donation helps us to build this chain of support. We can commit to directing funds where they will have the most impact in the local community, enabling us to deliver our priority themes.

Making Unpaid Carers Our Priority

Whether it be to family, friend, or neighbour, we often give our support and compassion without expecting anything in return. But caring responsibilities have hidden costs.

Providing unpaid care can disrupt all aspects of daily life, whether academic, professional, or personal. Many unpaid carers report that they feel lonely and isolated. We want to address these challenges and support those caring for others right across our community.

How We Do It

We use our networks and build trusted relationships with those who want and are able to make a difference locally.

We advocate on behalf of local people and ensure that the funds raised here, stay here, and directly benefit the community itself.

We connect funders with local organisations to channel funding and resources where they impact residents most effectively.

Caring in Richmond

Our research found that unpaid carers are in vital need of support:

  • Across Richmond borough, around 1 in 10 people are known to provide unpaid care—though the true figure could be twice as high.
  • There are 20% more people living with dementia in Richmond compared to the rest of London, all requiring additional care.
  • Unpaid Carers support others with a number of issues, including mental health among children and young people, and a rise in age-related health concerns.
  • The value of unpaid carers to the system in England and Wales is an estimated £162 billion a year.
  • The daily pressures of care leave many feeling lonely and isolated.
